This application is built on a privacy-first foundation, designed to function as a safe, data-minimal environment.
2. Privacy by Design (COPPA Compliance)
This app is operated in strict compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- No Accounts: We do not require or allow the creation of user accounts or profiles.
- No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise geolocation, photos, or contacts from children.
- Child-Directed Ads: All advertising requests are flagged for child-directed treatment. This ensures that tracking is disabled and only age-appropriate, non-personalized ads are served.
3. Local Data and System Permissions
- Local Storage: We store limited technical data (such as animal unlock progress and parental gate timestamps) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is used solely for app functionality.
- Audio Settings: The app requires the MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS permission on Android to manage playback volume for animal sounds. No access to the microphone or camera is requested.
4. Support for Internal Operations (Crash Reporting)
To ensure app stability and fix bugs, we use anonymous crash diagnostics.
- De-identified Data: Reports contain only anonymous technical information needed to diagnose and fix errors.
- Purpose: This processing is limited to "Support for Internal Operations" as defined by COPPA and is used exclusively for technical maintenance.
5. Parent-Only Features and Monetization
Actions such as viewing ads to unlock content or making a one-time purchase are protected by a parent verification challenge.
- Advertisements: We serve non-personalized, contextual ads via Google Mobile Ads. We do not engage in behavioral tracking or profiling.
- Billing: One-time purchases are processed by the respective platform provider (such as the Google Play Store or Apple App Store). We do not collect or store your financial information.
6. Third-Party Service Providers
We work with select service providers who are contractually bound by Data Processing Addendums (DPA) or equivalent platform terms. These agreements prohibit providers from using data for any purpose other than maintaining and improving the app's performance.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Because we do not collect personal information or user accounts, we do not maintain a database of user data. Local app data can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing the app cache through your device settings.
